Your Yoga

1. Tailored to big bodies. The poses are chosen and presented with tummies and thighs in mind. You wont have to do the modification as the poses are presented so there is no “right way” or “full expression”. The pose is meant to fit your body, not the other way around. The mirror will be covered and there are no windows in the studio, this is to allow you safe space for an internal experience. In this class we focus on how we feel, not how we look.

2. Led with inclusive language. No gendered or ableist language. This class is not about losing weight, or fitness, or strength, or flexibility, or your divine cosmic energy. I mean, if that’s what you’re here for then that’s what it’s about. But I wont tell you a movement or a breath will make you fitter or skinnier because whether it will or it wont is not up to me. You are having a journey with yourself and your body and this class might align with that. (It might not and that’s ok too) This is your experience, and I’m not going to tell you how to have it.

3. Trauma informed: This accessible practice creates opportunities for empowered movement through invitational language… Or something like that. All that really means is the choices to move stretch and breathe will be yours to make as you explore sensations in the body through the movement, breath and forms of yoga. You wont be told to stretch further, breathe deeper, or push yourself beyond what your body wants to do. And there are no physical assists.

4. What to bring: Bring a yoga mat and some water. There are blocks, bolsters and straps in the space, but you are welcome to bring your own if you like. I suggest leaving valuable things at home, this way you can focus on your body for the hour and minimise distracting or anxious thoughts. All levels, abilities, genders are welcome. The only rules in this class are no judgement and no suffering.

$15 per class
However… There is also a sliding scale option. Economics should never be a barrier to self care, message me and we can find the price that works for you. I also have stamp cards available. If you bring a friend to their first class you can earn a free stamp. If you want to pay ahead you can buy a line of stamps for $75 and get 6 classes.
