What do I wear?Make sure you are able to move freely and comfortably in your clothing. Loose or tight, it doesn't matter. You will practice barefoot, so please leave your shoes at the front. Do I need to bring a mat to class? We provide anything you may need during class. Mats, blocks, straps, and blankets are all available for your use. Your instructor will show you how to use all of these things. We also have water and tea available for your enjoyment. Just bring yourself and an enthusiasm to try yoga. I've never done yoga before, where should I start? The classes listed on the schedule as Yoga Basics, Gentle Yoga, or Hatha 1 are all great beginner classes. The classes listed as Hatha 1-2 would also be appropriate, as there will be variations of poses taught for both a beginner and a more experienced yogi, so there will be something offered for everyone. Please remember that the instructors are there to make your first yoga experience fun and enjoyable, so let them know you are new to yoga. Should I eat before class? It is generally recommended that you practice on an empty stomach, so try not to eat a lot of food right before class. Do I have to pre-register for class? No. Our classes are drop-in, meaning that you can come to class whenever it is convenient. Just show up a few minutes early to get signed-in and situated before class starts. |
